Yesterday we went to the airport as part of our HSIE Unit on Transport. We saw planes, seaplanes, helicopters, boats, motorbikes and a jet-ski. We learnt a lot about all these different vehicles. A big thank you to Hayden's mum and dad for showing us around their hangar and to Riley's mum and Lara's dad from the Broulee Surf Club for showing us their rescue vehicles. Check out the slideshow below for all the action we saw and were a part of.
We continue to keep busy with literacy groups in Year One. Students are making books using book creator, completing word processing tasks on KidPix, playing literacy and spelling groups, participating in reading comprehension groups and doing craft and fine motor activities. Lots of great ways to learn and develop our skills.
Year One worked together to make Anzac Biscuits for the whole school. We met the challenge together by finding out how many students there are in each class and hence, the whole school. We checked on the students that had allergies and then worked out how many ingredients we needed. We also made a list of the equipment we needed to do the cooking. The year one students really enjoyed the process and the other students in the school really enjoyed their biscuits!
