As part of our Poetry Unit Miss Vee has introduced them to a poem about a worm. They then had to write their own poem about worms. To get their brains working, students had to feel some worms (spaghetti). There were some great reactions! And some wonderful poems created!

To finish off our history unit, the Year One students made some scones with Belle at the canteen. It was a great experience and they tasted very yummy!
We have been learning soccer skills with Miss Vee, our student teacher. Next week we will have a game of soccer.
Year One has started Project Time after recess on Fridays. Students get to choose a project to work on. Some chose to use technology to create signs, posters and buildings on Eden and others did painting and made dioramas. The room was full of creativity and teamwork. Parents are more than welcome to join us for this time, 1:40-2:15pm every Friday.
1J were lucky enough to participate in a Movement and Mindfulness Session with Simone Quinton today. She taught us some actions we can do if we are feeling overwhelmed such as shaking and snaking, wiggling and giggling and drumming and strumming. We also talked about being mindful of others and thinking positively. Students really got into the activities and we look forward to implementing these strategies into the classroom.
Year One celebrated teddy bear day on Friday with students bringing in their teddy bears and participating in lots of teddy-themed activities, even dancing with our teddies. It was lots of fun!
